Little House on the Prairie: Mae Flannery--an elderly widow who views Laura as a daughter figure--pleads with her and Almanzo to take over ownership her huge home in Walnut Grove. Upon the woman's death, Laura respects her wishes, moves in with her family, and even decides to transform the place into a boarding house. But the Wilders are not the only ones with major life changes on the way. After achieving his long-awaited graduation from Walnut Grove's school, a much more grown-up Willie Oleson develops a strong romance with fellow classmate Rachel Brown. They both have marriage on the mind, and they even get her father's blessing, but Harriet Oleson--who has lofty plans for her precious son to attend college--proves to be the toughest sell in the situation. When Willie's decision to purposely fail the college entrance exam prompts a furious Harriet to behave coldly toward Rachel, Willie officially sheds his "mama's boy" image and boldly stands by his own decisions for his future.
