In a small South American village an anthropologist is killed, with his heart knifed out, and his blonde daughter starts to investigate. She runs into one of her father's friends, a young, irresponsible American, one thing leads to another and they become more than friends. More people in the village are killed in mysterious ways, as if from an invisible force. This includes the man's ex-girlfriend, who is battered to death in a bathtub, her face literally banged off, and the anthropologist's girflriend as well, who is hung by large fish hooks, her throat ripped open. It turns out that the majority of the town still practices the ancient n religion, which includes human sacrifice.
